Job Description

The Inamori School of Engineering at Alfred University invites applications for three open rank tenure/tenure-track faculty appointments in Ceramic Engineering. 

Salary: $85,000-$100,000 Annually

Requirements:

• The candidates must hold a PhD in Material Science and Engineering, Ceramic Engineering, Glass Science, Mechanical Engineering or closely related field
• The successful candidates will be expected to develop a strong externally funded research program and a high-quality teaching portfolio

Ceramic Engineering Expertise Areas:

• All candidates with expertise in the field of ceramic engineering are encouraged to apply
• Preferred areas of expertise include:
  • Traditional ceramic processing
  • Ultra-high-temperature and/or hypersonics material processing and characterization
  • Transmission electron microscopy (TEM+FIB)
  • Electroceramics and semiconductor fabrication
  • Candidates with strong expertise in material science education combined with interest in a teaching portfolio will also be considered
